Directed by pianist Carl Banner, Washington Musica Viva will perform Dvořák’s 13 Moravian Duets and Martinů’s Piano Quartet at the Embassy of the Czech Republic. In addition to Carl Banner on piano, performers include Elizabeth Kluegel (soprano), Karyn Friedman (mezzo soprano), Elizabeth Field (violin), Uri Wassertzug (viola) and Steven Honigberg (cello).
Washington Musica Viva has been hailed in the past by the WashingtonPost’s Joseph McLellan who wrote, “In their beautifully coordinated and rhythmically propulsive performance, Musica Viva highlighted two elements that have made Czech music special: the vitality of dance forms and the exquisite cadences of folk melody.” Step into the exquisite sounds of Dvořák and Martinů with Washington Musica Viva in an evening that audiences will truly remember.
