Great Experimenters in Film: Ecstasy

The National Gallery of Art presents director Gustav Machatý's Ecstacy (Exstase), one of the most widely viewed films of all time, on October 22, at 4:00 pm. The romantic racy film of its time stars Hedy Lamarr who abandons her marriage to find happiness in the arms of a handsome engineer (Aribert Mog). Highy controversial for its time, the film features scenes of Lamarr swimming and running across the countryside in the nude.
