In this real-life-inspired story, uptight Karel (Karel Roden) lives by strict rules with zero empathy. He begrudgingly takes in his free-spirited mom, Matilda (Regina Rázlová), a former singer who’s lost her apartment and is now battling Alzheimer's. Their clash of personalities creates chaos, especially when Karel's irresponsible son Pavel (Antonio Šoposki), who hates his dad’s job as an executor, becomes the best bet for helping out. Amid humorous and tragic moments, their struggles foster a deeper family connection.
The film won the Czech Lion Award for Best Score and the Czech Film Critics’ Award for Best Actor (Karel Roden)
